John Thompson Knox was born October 29, 1810 in Tennessee. He was a lawyer and justice of the peace. He served as postmaster in San Bernardino 1887 - 1889. Knox died in the Soldier's Home in Santa Monica, CA June 28, 1904 and is buried at the Pioneer Cemetery in San Bernardino.
