Edward E. Poole was born on January 21, 1825 at Manchester, Lancashire, England. He married Susanna Wilshire on December 24, 1850 at Council Bluffs, IA. Shortly after marriage they traveled to Utah and then on to San Bernardino in 1856. He ran a ranch south of Colton and he also ran a poultry, seed and fuel business in San Bernardino. Poole died in 1911 and is buried at the Pioneer Cemetery in San Bernardino.
