An Event to Remember
On Saturday, October 2, 2010, the San Bernardino City Library Foundation, with assistance from the Library staff and Friends of the Library, hosted a celebration to honor the Norman F. Feldheym Library's 25 years of service to the community. Gate counts confirmed that thousands gathered at the Feldheym Library to enjoy the event which featured great live entertainment such as Funny Eddie, the Mariachi Magicians and the San Bernardino Symphony Trio (pictured below right) informative library tours, fantastic prizes and many other enjoyable and educational community activities. Councilmembers Virginia Marquez (pictured below right, top right corner), Chas A. Kelley and Wendy McCammack as well as the President of the Library Board of Trustees Dr. Clark also stopped by to provide the community with special readings. According to Library records on the day of the event, 767 items were checked out or renewed and 473 items were returned. Enthusiasm for the library was evident as 76 new borrowers signed up for library cards and 279 patrons renewed or updated their library cards. All in all, the event was a great success.
Thank you again to all who participated.
