Danford Atwood was born February 7, 1826 at Hanford, CT. Jane Garner was born on May 29, 1832 in Hancock, IL. They were married on March 7, 1850 in Council Bluffs, IA. Atwood and Jane came to California in 1860 after selling his farm to buy wagons and oxen for the trip. They arrived in San Bernardino in December of 1860. The Atwoods bought 10 acres of land on the south west corner of 7th and Mt. View. Atwood died on December 7, 1892 and Jane died on May 23, 1927
