William Alexander Conn was born about 1814 in the West India Islands. He came to the United States in 1818. He came to San Bernardino in 1858 where he purchased the unsold portion of Rancho San Bernardino from the Mormons. He rented and resold the land to new settlers. He was a California State Senator in 1870.
