San Bernardino Public Library

Jane Elizabeth (Tompkins) Hunter was born January 11, 1843 in Steuben, New York. She traveled with her family on the ship Brooklyn and arrived in San Francisco July 31, 1846. From there the family traveled to Utah. In 1858 they traveled to San Bernardino. Jane married Jesse Hunter on July 3, 1862. She died May 5, 1920 and is buried in San Bernardino at the Mt. View Cemetery.
