Pioneer Monument at Cajon Pass
This monument was dedicated on December 23, 1917. It is near the edge of the old "Trails National Highway" at the juncture of the Salt Lake Trail and the Santa Fe Trail. It is 12 feet high and 7 feet square at the base. The inscription reads:
"Santa Fe and Salt Lake Trail 1849. Erected in 1917 to honor the brave pioneers of California, by Pioneers Sheldon Stoddard, Sidney P. Waite, John Brown, Jr., George Miller, George M. Cooley, Silas Cox, Richard Weir, and Jasper N. Corbett.
