Daniel Rathbun, Sr. was born in New York on May 13, 1830 and came to San Bernardino in 1853. He drove stage and drove the first stage to Los Angeles. He was a merchant, teamster and farmer. Rathbun died November 21, 1900 and is buried in the San Bernardino Pioneer Cemetery.
